Millions announced for 抖阴Pro

Funding through the Strategic Investment Fund, Canada 150 Community Infrastructure Program

抖阴Pro will soon be home to a world-class research facility thanks to infrastructure funding from the federal and provincial governments.

The federal government announced a contribution of $6.5 million through the Strategic Infrastructure Fund (SIF) Program to create the Centre for Environmental Innovation at 抖阴Pro. The provincial government contributed a further $3.25 million and 抖阴Pro will contribute $3.25 million for a total investment of $13 million.

The Centre will be housed in the Gairdner Building, the former home of the Fine Arts program, which is currently vacant. It will allow for increased research collaboration and facilitate the study of the effects of changing climate and pollutants on marine and freshwater eco-systems. The announcement also includes funding for upgrades to labs and infrastructure in the Barclay Building.

Funding was also announced to support the revitalization of Alumni Field. The Government of Canada made an investment of $250,000 under the Canada 150 Community Infrastructure Program. The Province of New Brunswick also contributed $250,000.
